“Unassuming little spot with honestly the best coffee in Hay – one of those times you just have to trust the panel by the bridge 😉 It has tables in a quirky garden and a miniature vaulted bookshop with even quirkier bookshelf labels: "Foreign climes – Strange lands", "Travel – Arabia to Wales(?)"!”

“Lovely little place! We were on a canoeing experience up river, end of our journey and pick up point ended here. Very quaint and quiet, loads of plants with scenery overlooking the bridge and river. Toilets, food and coffee. The lady who served us was polite and lovely. Nice experience.”

“I stumbled across this little coffee shop while wandering around Hay-on-Wye. Tucked away under the bridge was a little sign inviting people in for a coffee, and well... how could I refuse? I grabbed a coffee and sat by the river for a while, just watching life go by. The smell of the coffee made me think it was going to be really strong, but after that first sip I was pleasantly surprised. It wasn't overpowering at all and actually had a lovely sweet, almost fruity taste to it. If you ever find yourself in Hay-on-Wye and fancy slowing down for an hour, sitting by the river with a good coffee and maybe a cheeky pastry, I'd definitely recommend giving The Bean Box a visit. Sometimes it's the little places you stumble across that end up being your favourite.”
